Fotbal

Fotbal, known as football in many parts of the world, refers to a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The game is played on a rectangular field, typically known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Fotbal is characterized by its use of feet to move the ball, although players can use any part of their body except their hands and arms to play the ball, with the exception of goalkeepers who can use their hands within their penalty area.

The term „fotbal“ is derived from the English word „football“ and reflects the global popularity of the sport, which is played at amateur and professional levels in various leagues and tournaments worldwide, including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and numerous national leagues. It emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, making it one of the most widely followed and played sports globally.
